If you are having problems logging in then the first thing to do is keep a cool head. Believe me, the website software works perfectly. If you are sure you are using the correct details and it won't log you in then there is no point in making repeated attempts. The problem lies on your computer. This can be proved by using a new browser that you have never used to login with. You will see that if you are using the correct details you will be magically logged in. Fine but what about using your favourite browser? The answer is to clear your cookies. Most cookies are easy to delete, just follow these instructions at AboutCookies.org. Alternately you can use a freeware tool called CCleaner that will do it all for you. It automatically deletes cookies, temporary files, history, download history, form history etc. But you must have the delete cookies box ticked. Something else to look out for is when using copy and paste. Make certain when you copy that you are not selecting an extra blank space at the beginning or end of the username/password. Doing so would see your login rejected.
Finally cookies must be
enabled (in your browser settings) and always close any 'Jack's Celebs' windows before clearing the cookies. 2. Password Recovery
If you haven't been able to
clear your cookies correctly and still can't login, try setting a new
password as this sometimes does the trick. Select the 'recover password' link
underneath the login boxes and follow the instructions. 3.
How to stop "a script on this page is
causing IE to run slowly" appearing (Editing the registry is done entirely at your own risk. But don't be afraid, it's much easier than it looks.) 1. Click the 'start button', then 'run', and type in 'regedit' (without the inverted commas) and open this key - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Styles An even better solution is to stop using IE all together.
It's crap and you will have a much faster and more pleasant browsing experience
using one of these below (among others). Firefox needs a higher spec PC to work at it's best but Opera and Chrome run quickly on all but the oldest PC's. Once you get used to them you will never go back to IE or I'll eat my digital hat. I hope to fix this IE problem
soon. |
